Our Toddler Programs

15 months – 2.5 years

(Teacher : Child ratio 1:5)

Day Care

The Clarkson Angels Toddler program promotes independence and communication in a caring, nurturing and stimulating environment. Toddlers are taught sign language in conjunction with learning words, emphasizing strong communication skills. Thoroughly planned activities will keep your toddler's busy hands and feet engaged and entertained throughout the day.

Our Toddler curriculum incorporates all aspects of the Ontario Curriculum. It is designed to meet and exceed your toddler's physical, intellectual and social development. We create and implement daily activities that foster a fun and interactive program that will help your child acquire the skills to read.

There is plenty of cuddle time, and toddlers are given plenty of individualized attention. Thoroughly planned activities will keep your toddlers stimulated, engaged and entertained throughout the day. Our Infant program is designed to meet your infant's physical, intellectual and social development.

Parents are kept up to date with a daily report of feeding times/amounts, diaper changes, nap times, and activities that occurred each day.

Our Routines

Diapering Routine

Regardless of the stage, your child is at when they attend the Centre; teachers will work with parents to develop a program that works for each child. Proper hygiene (i.e. washing hands) is modelled by staff and incorporated into the daily routine. Please advise your child’s teacher(s) of any unique routines or difficulties your child may have when toileting. Please provide the Centre with diapers, wipes and any creams you apply during diapering.

Snack and Lunch Routine

Morning snack is provided at 8:30am.  Lunch is served between 11:30-12:30pm and an afternoon snack is provided at 3:30pm.  Weekly menus are posted on our message board.

If your child is drinking breast milk and/or formula these options will be prepared at the time of each individual’s toddlers routine. Please ensure shatter-proof bottles (including cap), are CLEARLY LABELED with the child’s name, and dated before being brought to the centre. Bottles are warmed in hot water.

Rest Times:

Nap time for the entire centre is from 12:30-2:30pm.  Children are assigned their own cots and cots sheet are provided.  Personal blankets and stuffed toys are encouraged to help children relax and settle in.  If your child does not sleep, they will be offered quiet activities or have additional outdoor time.
